Prof John Eu-Li Wong (Co-Chair) Executive Director, Centre for Population Health, National University of Singapore (NUS) Senior Advisor, National University Health System (NUHS) John Eu-Li Wong is the Isabel Chan Professor in Medical Sciences and Executive Director, Center for Population Health at the National University of Singapore (NUS) and Senior Advisor, National University Health System, (NUHS) Singapore. A medical oncologist-hematologist, he currently co-chairs a multisectoral initiative in a location based, real-world township, to co-develop programs which increase healthy longevity, enable purposeful longevity, promote intergenerational bonding and enable ageing-in-place. He has previously served as Senior Vice President (Health Innovation and Translation), NUS; Chief Executive, NUHS; Director of the National University Cancer Institute, Singapore; Dean, Yong Loo Lin School of Medicine, NUS, where he was involved in the development of biomedical sciences as a key pillar of Singapore’s economy and in the development of academic medicine in Singapore. He has also served as Chairman, Board of Directors, Health Sciences Authority, Singapore and served on the Singapore Medical Council. He represents Singapore in the M8 Alliance of Academic Health Centers and the Association of Academic Health Centers International, and is on the editorial board of the Journal of the American Medical Association. He was a member of the World Economic Forum Global Agenda Council on Personalized and Precision Medicine, the Nature Index Panel of Senior Medical Advisors, and the international editorial board of the American Journal of Medicine. He cofounded the Cancer Therapeutics Research Group, a multinational consortium of nine academic institutions, and has served as a member of the International Education Council for Molecular Targeted Therapy for Cancer, the American Society of Clinical Oncology International Affairs Committee, and the International Oncology Foundation Advisory Board. He was elected as a member of the Academia Europaea in 2022 and an international member of the U.S. National Academy of Medicine in 2019, where he co-chaired an international commission which published a consensus report on a Global Roadmap for Healthy Longevity in 2022. He was the recipient of the 2023 David Rall Medal, US National Academy of Medicine, received the degree of Doctor Philosophiae Honoris Causa from the Hebrew University of Jerusalem in 2019, the Public Administration Medal (Gold) in 2016, and Singapore’s President’s Science & Technology Medal in 2014, among other awards. Assoc Prof David Michael Allen Adjunct Associate Professor Deputy Executive Director, Centre for Population Health at the National University of Singapore Senior Consultant, Department of Infectious Diseases, National Centre for Infectious Diseases, Singapore Associate Professor Allen was raised in West Texas and attended Rice University in Houston, Texas before receiving his M.D. with honours from the University of Texas Southwestern Medical School in Dallas, Texas. He completed Internal Medicine residency and Infectious Diseases specialty training in New York Hospital/Cornell University Medical Centre (CUMC) in New York City. David was Visiting Investigator (Virology) at Rockefeller University and an Assistant Professor in the CUMC Division of Infectious Diseases when he was recruited to Singapore to introduce/establish Infectious Diseases as a specialty. He developed the Infectious Diseases clinical service and clinical training programs and became the first Infectious Diseases Head of Department in Singapore. From 1994 to 2020, David returned to the US and was CEO of a specialty medical practice providing quaternary Infectious Diseases care in Dallas, Texas while serving as Courage Fund Professor in Singapore from 2011 until 2020. In early 2020, A/Prof Allen again moved full-time to Singapore. Most recently he was MD Asia for eToro, an equities and crypto trading platform. Prior to that he was CEO for Lu International with responsibility over the global expansion of the Lufax financial services platform. Other experiences include Chief Product Officer of OVO, an Indonesian mobile platform for banking & payments, Google’s APAC Sales Strategy and Operations team, Head of Corporate Strategy and M&A for ANZ Asia Pacific and as a financial services consultant at McKinsey. With over 20 years experience in tech and financial services – he is passionate about all things Fintech. His other passion is deep powder skiing. Kit holds a Bachelor of Economics from the University of Sydney and a Masters of Business Administration from Wharton, University of Pennsylvania.
Ms Irene Lai Director, Program Management Office, Corp Finance, NUHS Director, Operations and Program Management, Health District @ Queenstown Irene is the Director of the Program Management Office at Corp Finance, National University Health System. Concurrently, she is also Director of Program Management at Health District, where she provides strategic assessments to help shape the portfolio of projects and develops workplans for the Health District Queenstown. She has a background in semiconductor engineering, having worked across different engineering and management positions in design, wafer fabrication, assembly and test processes. Adept at leading international cross functional teams, she is experienced in designing, building and automating multi-tiered global supply chain systems, training organizations in problem solving and decision making, and leading complex change management efforts.
Ms Agatha Seow Senior Manager, Program Management Office, Corp Finance, NUHS Program Management Lead, Health District @ Queenstown Agatha is a Senior Program Manager at Corporate Finance, National University Health System (NUHS), where she drives the strategic initiatives that support organisational performance, healthcare transformation, and long-term system planning. She partners with senior leaders across the health system to drive cross-functional programmes and performance management efforts. In her dual role, Agatha also leads the planning and implementation of Purposeful Longevity initiatives at Health District @ Queenstown. With a background in Mathematics and Economics, Agatha combines analytical rigour with practical program leadership. She has accumulated broad experience across healthcare administration, healthcare financing, strategic planning, and program management. Her work has encompassed large-scale transformation programs, population health initiatives, performance frameworks, and operational improvement projects. She is passionate about transforming strategy into practical initiatives that make a tangible difference to the people and communities they serve.
Ms Charisse Lim Manager, Operations, Health District @ Queenstown As Manager (Operations) at Health District @ Queenstown, Charisse oversees operations and project management across multiple population health workstreams, ensuring alignment of timelines, resources, and deliverables to support the district's strategic priorities. She serves as the central "control tower" for research programmes and cross-sector collaborations, driving governance, risk management, stakeholder coordination, and executive reporting to support informed decision-making. Working closely with Professor John Wong and the leadership team, Charisse supports and facilitates strategic engagement with Political Office Holders, Singapore ministries, statutory boards, and international advisors. She leads the planning and execution of high-level meetings, visits, and events, including those involving the Health District Steering Committee and the International Advisory Panel, while continuously improving cross-functional processes to strengthen collaboration across clinical, research, and community initiatives.
Ms Guan Jye Swei Manager, Finance and Procurement, Health District @ Queenstown Jye is the Manager at the Centre for Population Health, NUS, overseeing finance and procurement for all operations, including budgeting, expense reporting, and ensuring compliance with institutional policies. She supports event planning by handling travel and accommodation bookings for guests and participants, as well as processing payments for event-related expenses. Jye has a scientific background, having conducted research on Helicobacter pylori and breast cancer at Monash University and NUS, with several peer-reviewed publications in these fields. She also has considerable experience managing research grants, from applications to reporting and fund utilization, working with a range of government and industry grantors. Prior to joining the Health District, Jye gained her MSc in Science Communications. As a science writer, Jye has founded a health website, www.ourcancerstories.com.
Dr Irina Barbolina Project Manager, Centre for Population Health, National University of Singapore Irina is a specialist with over 20 years of experience in research, process optimisation, product development, innovation management and business development across academia, healthcare services, established companies and SMEs. Throughout her career, she has been involved in high-impact research, management, consultancy and commercial development in the fields of biotechnology, genomics, nanotechnology, medical devices and in vitro diagnostics. Her work has contributed to scientific publications, the establishment of new processes and services, and the development and deployment of innovative products and technologies. For the Health District @ Queenstown initiative, Irina provides administrative, project management and operational support for the Technology Workstream. She contributes to the development and implementation of the technology selection framework, conducts due diligence on healthcare technologies, and supports the deployment of health and wellbeing solutions across Queenstown.
Ms Lydia Cheung Assistant Manager, (PMO) Corporate Finance Office, National University Health System Lydia supports strategic planning, performance reporting, and governance initiatives across the organisation. Her work focuses on facilitating cross-functional collaboration, strengthening governance processes, and monitoring progress against key strategic objectives. Ms Valerie Lim Manager, Operations, Health District @ Queenstown Valerie is a Manager of Operations at the Centre for Population Health, National University of Singapore. She supports the Centre’s programmes by coordinating operational workflows, organising events and visits, and facilitating collaborations across teams and institutions. With a background in pharmacy and experience in healthcare and project management, Valerie contributes by helping to ensure that plans are well-executed and stakeholders are supported. Ms Winnie Chong Assistant Manager, Office of Senior Advisor, National University Health System Assistant Manager, Department of Medicine, National University of Singapore Winnie is a dedicated Project Manager with 7 years of experience in health services research. She leads work stream efforts in the development of the Health District Evaluation Framework (HDEF). With her strong training and practice in research, Winnie is the driving force behind Health District’s Evaluation Work Stream. She oversees the process of gathering indicators to develop the Evaluation Framework, from conducting comprehensive literature and database searches, to training Research Assistants to support this role. Skilled in preparing grant applications, Winnie drives research administration for the evaluation workstream, leading the development of research plans and IRB ethics submissions. In her role as a Project Manager, she blends technical expertise with effective project management and mentorship, driving both research and stakeholders’ meetings, guided by data-driven insights and factual decision-making.
Ms Zahirah Taha Communications Lead, Health District @ Queenstown Zahirah (Zah) is a communications and digital marketing professional with over a decade of experience across the agency, non-profit and public sectors. She began her career at We Are Social Singapore, managing regional campaigns across technology, entertainment and travel clients, before moving to roles in the non-profit and public sectors where she led digital storytelling, content strategy and engagement initiatives at Our Better World and the Infocomm Media Development Authority. More recently, she managed global digital marketing at the Alliance to End Plastic Waste, working across stakeholders in the sustainability and circular economy space. Zahirah is currently Communications Lead at Health District @ Queenstown, an initiative by NUS, National University Health System and the Housing & Development Board (HDB), where she leads communications and storytelling efforts to deepen public understanding of Health District’s work.
Dr Tan Li Feng Senior Consultant, Division of Geriatric Medicine, Department of Medicine, Alexandra Hospital Dr. Tan Li Feng is a senior consultant geriatrician with Alexandra Hospital (AH). She is also the Geriatrics Lead at the NUHS Regional Health System Office, and Planning Lead for Geriatrics at the upcoming Tengah General and Community Hospital. Dr. Tan’s research interests include cognition, frailty, and sarcopenia, with a focus on developing innovative interventions to enhance brain health and functional independence in older adults. She has been awarded multiple grants including the academic health programme award and the NMRC Healthy and Meaningful Longevity grant to develop AI-powered tools to enhance brain health. Her work aims to address age-related conditions and improve health outcomes through evidence-based strategies and multidisciplinary collaborations. She was awarded the National Medical Research Council (NMRC) Research Training Fund in 2022 to pursue a Master’s in Clinical Investigation. She was appointed as a clinical expert panel member with the Geriatric Education & Research Institute (GERI) in 2024. She is actively involved in the Health District @ Queenstown, a multi-stakeholder initiative promoting healthy ageing in Queenstown through integrated care and community partnerships. She received the Gloria Lee-Woo Award and CE commendation award 2024 for her work in Queenstown. She has been awarded multiple grants including the NUS-NUHS Health Promotion and Health Services Research Grant and the NMRC RTF Seed grant. She is a co-investigator and collaborates actively on many national grants including the NMRC Large Centre Grant for sarcopenia (MAGNET) awarded in 2025. Dr. Tan is passionate about enhancing the health of older adults to promote not just years in life, but life in years. In recognition of her expertise and leadership, Dr Tan is a member of the Global Leadership Initiative in Sarcopenia (GLIS) alongside leading experts from Singapore. She is also a founding member of the Global Brain Care Coalition, which seeks to advance brain care globally by fostering collaboration and innovation in brain health research and care delivery. She is also a board member of the Chapter of Geriatricians, Singapore.
Assoc Prof Thang Leng Leng (Co-lead) Deputy Head, Department of Japanese Studies Associate Professor, Department of Japanese Studies, NUS Leng Leng is Associate Professor and deputy head of the Department of Japanese Studies, National University of Singapore, also co-lead of Workstream 2, Health District@Queenstown Initiative led by NUS, NUHS and HDB. She obtained PhD (Anthropology) from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign and is a socio-cultural anthropologist with research interests in ageing, intergenerational approaches and relationships, family and migration with a focus on Asia, especially Japan and Singapore. She publishes widely in her areas of expertise and specialises in ethnographic and qualitative research approaches. She is active in community engagements and is currently President of Fei Yue Family Service Centres and Vice President of Presbyterian Community Services.
Ms Edna Tan Manager, Centre for Population Health, NUS Edna is a dedicated and passionate Community Engagement Manager with a passion for building meaningful connections between Queenstown Health District and the local community. Edna developed appreciation for the power of community through more than 20 years of volunteer work and working as a Community Liaison Manager in previous organisations. This led to a career focused on bridging gaps between institutions and individuals, whether in the non-profit or public sectors. In 2020, through volunteerism Edna saw a need and initiated an in-situ Assisted Living sited at a public rental housing block for seniors who live alone. The seniors under this program showed an increase in Happiness Index.

Mr Muhammad Yasser Bin Ab Samat Senior Executive, Centre for Population Health, NUS Muhammad Yasser Ab Samat is a Senior Executive at the NUS Health District, supporting community engagement initiatives that promote healthier and more connected communities. Prior to joining NUS, he spent five years with the Ministry of Manpower's Foreign Manpower Management Division (FMMD), followed by two years as a Community Liaison Executive at Ang Mo Kio Town Council, where he worked closely with residents, community partners, and government agencies to address community needs and strengthen stakeholder relationships. During his tenure at the Ministry of Manpower, he was recognised with the MOM Service Excellence Award for his commitment to service and was also conferred the COVID-19 Resilience Medal, a Singapore National Award, in recognition of his contributions during the COVID-19 pandemic. With a strong background in public service and community engagement, Yasser is passionate about fostering meaningful partnerships and creating positive social impact through collaborative initiatives.
Asst Prof Shan Xiao Yue Assistant Professor, Department of Economics, NUS Asst Prof Shan Xiao Yue ia an Assistant Professor of Economics at the National University of Singapore (NUS). She received her PhD in Economics from the University of Zurich in 2021 and was previously a postdoctoral researcher at the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania. Mr Choo Chin Hua (Co-Lead) Group Director (Design Development), HDB Mr Choo Chin Hua leads the Design Development Group at the Housing & Development Board, overseeing the design of new public housing projects as well as upgrading programmes for existing public housing estates in Singapore.
Dr Chong Fook Loong (Co-Lead) Group Director (Urban Planning), HDB Dr Chong Fook Loong is currently the Group Director (Urban Planning) and the HDB’s Chief Town Planner at the Housing & Development Board (Singapore) to provide directions in terms of strategic planning, comprehensive town planning and urban design, and research; for public housing projects which range from the regional and town level to the local level.
Ms Ang Wei Ping Director (Planning and Urban Design Department 2), HDB Ms Ang Wei Ping is currently Director (Planning and Urban Design Department 2) at the Housing & Development Board (Singapore), where she works with her team to carry out comprehensive town planning work (including master planning, rejuvenation, and redevelopment studies) and oversees the urban design of HDB’s Government Land Sales sites and public housing developments.
Mr Jeremiah Lim Director (Design Policy), HDB Mr Jeremiah Lim is the Director of Design Policy, leading a team that reviews design guidelines, concepts and studies for new public housing developments. The scope of studies include community design, liveability, sustainability, as well as health and wellness.
Prof Dean Ho (Lead) Provost’s Chair Professor, Director of The N.1 Institute for Health (N.1), Director of The Institute for Digital Medicine (WisDM), Head of Department of Biomedical Engineering, NUS Dean Ho is currently Provost’s Chair Professor and Head of the Department of Biomedical Engineering in the College of Design and Engineering, Director of The Institute for Digital Medicine (WisDM) at the Yong Loo Lin School of Medicine, and Director of The N.1 Institute for Health (N.1) at the National University of Singapore. He and collaborators successfully developed and validated CURATE.AI, a powerful artificial intelligence platform that personalizes human treatment for a broad spectrum of indications ranging from oncology to digital therapeutics and infectious diseases, among others. His team also developed IDentif.AI to optimise combination therapy design against SARS-CoV-2 and to address antimicrobial resistance. Recently, his team unveiled WisDM Green, a technology platform to sustainably address food security and optimise yield while preserving nutritional content. He is a Fellow of the US National Academy of Inventors (NAI), the American Association for the Advancement of Science (AAAS), the American Institute for Medical and Biological Engineering (AIMBE), and the Royal Society of Chemistry. He was also recently named to the HIMSS Future50 Class of 2021 for his internationally recognised leadership in digital health. Prof Ho has appeared on the National Geographic Channel Program “Known Universe,” and Channel News Asia’s “The Hidden Layer: Healthcare Trailblazers". Dr Andrew Makmur Senior Consultant, Department of Diagnostic Imaging, NUH Group Chief Technology Officer, NUHS Consultant, Division of Gastroenterology and Hepatology, Department of Medicine, Alexandra Hospital Dr. Andrew Makmur is the Group Chief Technology Officer at the National University Health System (NUHS). A consultant radiologist at the National University Hospital of Singapore, Dr. Makmur is at the forefront of integrating innovative technology in healthcare. He played a pivotal role as a co-inventor of the NUH/NUS School of Computing Spine AI model, which garnered notable publications and led to a partnership with Siemens for further development and its global distribution. Dr. Makmur has contributed significantly to the development of various imaging AI models, including those for detecting metastatic spine instability and grading, and has collaborated with the Health Promotion Board (HPB) on a mobile app for scoliosis X-ray screening. He oversees the NUH custom radiology AI deployment sandbox, aimed at integrating imaging AI models into clinical practice. Under his leadership, the Duplicate Radiology Scans Detection dashboard was developed on the NUHS ENDEAVOUR AI platform, enhancing scanner resource utilization and patient experience by detecting duplicate scans and MRI safety issues. Dr Rubin Yong Research Fellow, Department of Opthamology, Yong Loo Lin School of Medicine, National University of Singapore Rubin is a research fellow at the Centre for Innovation and Precision Eye Health, National University of Singapore, taking an end-to-end thinker role in advancing innovation-focused solutions for eye care. His work spans the full pipeline of multi-disciplinary activities — from prototype development and product design to health services research, health technology assessment, and the commercialization of novel devices. He works closely with industry partners to develop IP strategy and management, and to drive real-world adoption of new technologies. As an entrepreneurial innovator, Rubin co-founded I-NOVA Technologies Pte Ltd, a spin-off from the NUS GRIP incubator programme, dedicated to translating cutting-edge research into impactful healthcare solutions. Guided by an impact-oriented approach, his research aims to empower newer care models and deliver meaningful improvements to patient outcomes. For the Health District @ Queenstown initiative, he works to deploy a suite of novel innovations to better manage patients with chronic eye conditions in the community setting.
Dr Yoann Sapanel Head, Health Innovation at The Institute for Digital Medicine (WISDM), Yong Loo Lin School of Medicine, National University of Singapore Over the past 16 years, Yoann has dedicated most of his time to Singapore, where he has been deeply involved in the design and implementation of innovative solutions, particularly in the digital realm. His focus has been on shaping a healthcare system that revolves around individuals, driven by data and outcomes. His journey led him to the Institute for Digital Medicine (WisDM) at NUS, where he now strives to foster and accelerate cross-industry, public–private collaborations to validate, implement, and scale pioneering pharmacological and digital interventional technologies into the clinic. Prior to that, Yoann was the Head of Health Partnerships at MetLife focusing on the development of new products and services grounded in technology and data for cancer, dementia, and cardiovascular diseases. Earlier, Yoann led the Asia Pacific Center of Excellence for Business Model Innovation at Medtronic. As program director for Medtronic Asia’s Value-Based Health Care Council, Yoann was instrumental in advancing the adoption of outcome-based models to ensure better patients outcomes, reduce costs, and deliver value across the region. Looking ahead, Yoann is enthusiastic about leveraging his wealth of experience towards the development a scalable multi-sectoral program which will prevent, delay, and where possible, reverse the onset and progression of frailty in residents living in Housing and Development Board (HDB) homes, in the Mei Ling and Stirling sub-districts of Queenstown.
Assoc Prof Lim Yee Wei (Co-Lead) Associate Professor Department of Medicine, Yong Loo Lin School of Medicine, NUS Yee Wei is a physician researcher with two areas of interest: the design and evaluation of integrated care systems, and the role of social innovations in health. His work has involved healthcare systems in Southeast Asia, the Middle East, Australia and the US, covering areas including pandemic preparedness programs, primary care capacity building, elder care, and healthcare technology assessment. He co-led a multi-million dollar Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation project to determine the future of diagnostic platforms for infectious diseases in developing countries, resulting in a series of papers that were published in Nature, and formed the basis for the Foundation’s Grand Challenges grant call. Assoc Prof Jia Lile (Co-Lead) Associate Professor, Department of Psychology, Faculty of Arts and Social Sciences, NUS Vice Dean (Graduate Research Studies), Faculty of Arts and Social Sciences, NUS Lile studies how people pursue meaningful goals—such as maintaining a desired state or achieving personal success—within dynamic intrapersonal and interpersonal contexts. His research explores how factors like temptations, prior efforts, social interactions, and others’ goals influence the process of goal pursuit. He aims to create insights that help build more supportive environments where individuals can pursue their goals more effectively, persistently, and enjoyably. At the Situated Goal Pursuit (SPUR) Lab, Lile leads research using a multi-method approach, including experiments, longitudinal studies, big data analyses, and intervention programs. Prof Leonard Lee (Co-Lead) Director and Lloyd's Register Foundation Professor, LRF Institute for the Public Understanding of Risk (IPUR) Professor of Marketing, NUS Business School, NUS Leonard Lee is Director and Lloyd’s Register Foundation Professor of Lloyd’s Register Foundation Institute for the Public Understanding of Risk (IPUR), and Professor of Marketing at NUS Business School, National University of Singapore (NUS). Before joining NUS in 2014, he was an Associate Professor of Marketing at Columbia Business School where he spent the first eight years of his academic career. He received a BSc in Computer and Information Sciences from NUS, a MS in Computer Science from Stanford University, and a PhD in Management (Marketing) from the MIT Sloan School of Management. Leonard’s research investigates how emotional and cognitive factors influence consumer judgments and decision making, with applications in public policy domains such as healthcare and sustainable transportation. Additionally, he is interested in understanding shopping motivations and behavior in real-world environments. His research has been published in major academic journals such as the Journal of Consumer Research, Journal of Marketing Research, Journal of Consumer Psychology, Journal of Marketing, and Psychological Science, and featured in media such as The New York Times, Financial Times, and The Wall Street Journal. He has received honors such as the Paul Green Award (Finalist) from the Journal of Marketing Research, the Franco Nicosia Best Competitive Paper Award from the Association for Consumer Research, and the Robert Ferber Award (Honorable Mention) from the Journal of Consumer Research. He was also selected as a member of the inaugural class of MSI Scholars in 2018. Leonard is an Associate Editor of the Journal of Consumer Psychology and the Journal of Public Policy and Marketing, and a previous Associate Editor of Journal of Consumer Research (2015-22) and the International Journal of Research in Marketing (2014-15). He is also serving on the Editorial Review Boards of Journal of Consumer Research, Journal of Marketing, Journal of Marketing Research, Marketing Letters, and Foundations and Trends in Marketing. Dr Li Ying Postdoctoral Research Fellow, Department of Psychology, Faculty of Arts and Social Sciences, NUS Dr. Li Ying is a postdoctoral researcher whose work sits at the intersection of motivational psychology and self-regulation. Drawing on social, quantitative, and gerontological psychology, her research spans growth mindset theory, long-term goal pursuit, educational equity, and intergenerational programming. She co-leads the VOYAGE project, a comprehensive intergenerational volunteer program that examines mindsets and identity narratives within community settings. She has also spearheaded a large-scale meta-analysis of mindset research in Mainland China and integrated mindset frameworks with goal pursuit theory, with findings targeted for high-impact publication. As a core member of both the Health District @ Queenstown evaluation team and the SPUR Lab at the National University of Singapore, she applies advanced statistical methodologies to the analysis of complex longitudinal data.
Dr Shuna Shiann Khoo Research Fellow, Department of Psychology, Faculty of Arts and Social Sciences, NUS Dr. Shuna Khoo is a psychologist whose research explores how digital environments influence physical, mental, and social well-being across the lifespan. She received her PhD in Psychology from Singapore Management University in 2022, with early works rooted in Cyberpsychology. Over time, her research has broadened to examine how mobile and social media technologies shape self-control, well-being, and behavioral outcomes. She employs diverse methodologies—including longitudinal studies, big data analysis, and structural equation modeling—to uncover how digital media affect health in both beneficial and harmful ways. Currently a research fellow with the Health District @ Queenstown, Dr. Khoo focuses on promoting healthy longevity in the context of an aging population. Her latest work investigates how self-control strategies contribute to long-term well-being, and how these insights can inform interventions to support resilience and purpose across the life course. Through this research, she aims to advance evidence-based approaches for enhancing quality of life in an increasingly connected and aging society.
Assoc Prof Jiang Shaohai (Co-Lead) Associate Professor, Department of Communications and New Media, Faculty of Arts and Social Sciences, NUS Associate Professor Shaohai is an Associate Professor in the Department of Communications and New Media at the National University of Singapore. He specializes in health communication, new media, and strategic communication. His research primarily looks at how communication and technology can improve people’s health outcomes. Specifically, his projects examine patient-provider communication, eHealth and mHealth, and health campaigns and interventions. He is the Associate Editor for Patient Education and Counselling, and Journal of Applied Communication Research. He also serves on the editorial board of Communication Monographs, Health Communication, PEC Innovation, and the book series of Cambridge Elements in Health Communication (Cambridge University Press). He is a recipient of Early Career Award from Association for Chinese Communication Studies, Asian Universities Alliance Scholars Award, and numerous Top Paper Awards from National Communication Association, Association for Education in Journalism and Mass Communication, and International Communication Association. Dr Soh Kai Ruo (Co-Lead) Lecturer, Department of Communications and New Media, Faculty of Arts and Social Sciences, NUS Dr Soh Kai Ruo was awarded with a PhD in Creative Industries (Media Studies). Her research examines film production culture to consider how foreign film collaborations are transnational in their ability to forge connections across borders both culturally and economically. She brings professional experiences in marketing and communications within the arts, cultural and social impact sectors, with several international accolade recognising her work. Dr Soh is also leading the Communications and Engagement team for Health District @ Queenstown, an initiative by NUS, National University Health System and the Housing & Development Board (HDB).
